Equality Check Privacy Policy

This statement describes the types of personal data we may collect and process about you if you have left a review, visited our website or requested information from us.

All references to “we” and “us” refer to the Norwegian company AS Shesgotthis (data controller), who own the product Equality Check. If you have any further questions after reading this statement, do not hesitate to contact us on hello@shesgotthis.co.

The purpose of processing personal data is to provide a community-based platform of employee reviews rating equality in companies. The data you submit about your company will be publicly visible on the website, but your review will never be publicly associated with your identity on the website. The legal basis for this processing is your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us on hello@shesgotthis.co

The data we collect

Participant data

In connection with the review we process information about our participants in order to provide the rating of equality in companies. The customer data we collect are:

  • E-mail adress

We require email to verify you but your email will never be associated with your review. We will use your email to provide you with updates, news and information about Equalitycheck.

  • Survey information regarding equality in the company you are reviewing

  • Age

  • Gender

We may also process the following personal information defined as “special categories of personal data”. It is completely voluntary to answer the boxes marked with “OPTIONAL”, these answers contains special categories of personal data. The legal basis of this processing is your explicit consent.

Special categories of personal information:

  • Sexuality (sexual orientation)

  • Ethnicity racial or ethnic origin (ethnic minority background)

  • Health data (disability)

How will your data be presented when the platform is live?

When the platform is live, we will publish information on how employees rate their companies in terms of equality. We will never reveal your identity in doing so, and you will remain completely anonymous. To ensure your anonymity, we will publish ratings as average ratings, and we will not publish information about a company unless more than five people have rated the company. If more than five people within a special category of personal information have rated the company, we may give an average rating of how this special category rates equality in the company. I.e. (LGBTQ employees rate this company 5 stars). We will not combine categories of personal or other information in a way that indirectly expose the identity of the reviewer. Freetext will be published, but may be flagged and deleted if it does not comply with our code of conduct*.

Reviews will not be deleted unless you specifically request so. Other personal data, other than your email, is deleted within 5 years after submitting it to the site.

We may have to share your personal data with our data processors (subcontractors) in order to provide the service. We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with GDPR, and we only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

Our data processors are:

 -        Squarespace, Inc. : website creation (privacy settings here)

-        Google Drive LLC : data storage (privacy settings here)

-        Amazon Web Services, Inc. : website domain (privacy settings here)

-        The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp : email (privacy settings here)

-        One.com : email (privacy settings here)

Squarespace, Google Drive, AWS and Mailchimp are based in the US and the processing may take place outside EU/EEA. The companies are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield which secures the transfer of personal data under the necessary safeguards.

Website visitors

We use cookies on our website delivered by Google Analytics to perform analysis of how you use our website (which pages you visit, what links you click on and the time and duration of your visit).  Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, phone, tablet or any other device you may use to access our website.

The cookies will expire two years after you visited the website. You may delete all our cookies in the “Settings”-menu of your browser. Our cookies may also be disabled by visiting the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.   

Your rights as a data subject

You have the right to request:

  • access to all the personal data we have stored about you,

  • correction of any errors in the personal data we have stored about you, and

  • deletion of your personal data

Your personal data will be deleted when the data is no longer needed for the processing purposes specified in above. Email hello@shesgotthis.co with any inquires.


We are constantly working on improving and developing our products and websites, so we may change this privacy policy from time to time. We will not diminish your rights under this privacy policy. If the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice, when we are required to do so by applicable law. Please review this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay updated on any changes.

You may file a complaint

If you have any concerns about how we process your personal data, you are welcome to file a complaint to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet): https://www.datatilsynet.no/om-datatilsynet/kontakt-oss/hvordan-kan-jeg-klage-til-datatilsynet/ or the relevant data protection authority in your country.

*Our code of conduct request that every user of Equality Check submits true and constructive feedback. This means that you can not post:

- Aggressive or discriminatory language

- Personalized criticism or information that can identify an individual in the organization/company

- Trade secrets/confidential information

If you have experienced grave episodes of sexual harassment or discrimination we urge you to report this directly to your employer, your union or the police.
