We are hoping that you are the next frontend developer to join our team of Equality Checker’s in Oslo. Equality Check is a startup on a mission to create diverse and equal workplaces through radical transparency. We are a young startup but are experiencing great traction with users, corporate collaborations, and positive social impact.

Who are you?

You are a solution-oriented, positive, and creative senior developer. You are eager to understand users’ needs and push to create the best possible solution to help bring Equality Check scale to the next level.

What does that really mean?

It means to become a product every employee has found helpful when finding a job they will have equal opportunities in or looking for more transparency in the workplace. We aim to make a difference for every workplace by supporting them in becoming an equal opportunity employer. We are currently based in Oslo, but you will be instrumental in adapting our product as we scale to Sweden and the UK this year. You will be joining our team of 7, and work closely with our designer, developer and CTO.

What the job entails

  • Work closely with our designer to create a beautiful UI

  • Create meaningful features in a fast and motivating pace

  • Improve and work on our frontend architecture

  • Influence our technical decisions going forward

  • Work with both frontend and backend if you want to!

Who you are

  • You are a self-driven developer who gets energy from working at speed and efficiency

  • You are comfortable with risk, rapid growth, and uncertainty in a thriving startup

  • You are positive, solutions-oriented and see opportunities

  • You work well in a team and contribute to the overall team success

  • You show initiative and get things done

  • Energized by a demanding, fast-moving environment

  • Committed to the continuous improvement of yourself, the team and the organization

You have

  • Between 2 and 7 years experience as developer

  • Experienced in React and TypeScript

  • Worked with Universal design

  • An interest in business as well as technology - you might have MS/BS Degree in Computer Science, but this is not mandatory

Equality Check was founded in 2015 by two founders who have been working passionately to solve gender equality in Norway for the past five years. Since our inception, the team has:

  • 3 national campaigns addressing gender stereotypes and unconscious bias in Norway reaching more than 3 million people.

  • Engaged more than 30 CEOs of Norway’s largest companies to prioritize the issue

  • Published a best-selling book on unconscious bias and gender stereotypes with Norway’s most accredited publisher Gyldendal

  • Raised funds from corporations and the government (Innovation Norway) to find solutions on how to improve gender equality in the workplace

  • Been part of the Antler Global accelerator program in Stockholm

  • Been featured in 100+ media articles speaking on the subject of diversity

  • Held several international and national events on unconscious bias and gender stereotypes for thousands of people
